Sheriff Hernandez took office January 1, 2017, and is currently serving her second term as county sheriff after winning re-election in 2020. Uniquely qualified for such a challenging leadership role, she has worked in Law Enforcement for nearly 40 years; 34 of which have been in Travis County.
